    1. Can I use the system without CMS ?
    A. Yes you can on a 1-1 basis without live GPS tracking. The Software is called Ceiba and is free of charge and is generally used for downloading the footage direct from the HDD via USB. It has lots of great analysis tools and its easy to use.
    2. How much does the CMS Server cost ?
    A. CMS Server software is supplied free of charge including training and updates for those purchasing 20 or more MDVRs at once.
For Qty less than that please contact Ness for a set-up and training price.
    3. If I don't want to purchase CMS Server can I download it and set it up myself ?
    A. Without doing the training and paying for the course you will be ineligible to receive Tech Support for the product, so please dont be offended if you ring up or email and are refused help.
    4. What spec do I need for the PC running CMS Server ?
    5. How does the CMS Server work and why is it different from other CMS software ?
    A. Refer connection diagram
The MDVR works differently to fixed DVRs. The MDVR sends out a request to the CMS Server and then starts communicating where as all other DVRs the CMS goes out to find the DVR. This is quite time consuming to assign IP addresses and port forwarding in a mobile application, where as our system does not require any port forwarding and only the CMS Server requires one fixed IP address.
    6. How much data does the MDVR use over 3G ?
    A. if you are just tracking the MDVR then each GPS data ping is around 200bits of information.
If you are viewing video then each video stream is dynamic and relies on movement within the image to dictate the amount of data used. Generally speaking the video uses between 100bytes and 1800bytes. The settings of the system can make a big difference also because you can set various bandwidth controls and image sizes to limit the data usage.
The video stream is also automatically cut if left for too long where someone may forget to turn off the video to reduce data cost.
    7. How many MDVRs can the CMS Server handle ?
    A. at peak spec, around 500. Ultimately it may be a limit of the internet connection
    8. I have some old models, will the new models work into the same CMS ?
    A. yes
    9. We just bought the old models and now there are new models, how come they changed ?
    A. In fact they don't change that often, but it is just at this period when there was a model change. Each model life expectancy is around 3years (unlike Apple which change iphone models every year or less)
    10. How come you never hold stock of all models of the MDVR ?
    A. There are many different models, such as with GPS, With WiFi, with 3G and each combination there of available. (e.g. With GPS and 3G but not Wifi, with GPS, Wifi but no 3G etc). So to hold each combincation in volume is not practiacle. Rather than keep stock of all models, we would ask you to supply us with PO's for supply 4 weeks in advance. Generally we can produce stocks earlier than this and almost always you will know in advance that XXX number of MDVR installs are going to happen next month and therefore you just need to send us the information for our ordering purposes. This way we have stock dedicated to you and your forthcoming orders so infact we will not be out of stock if this procedure is followed.
Generally the model we hold in stock is with GPS.!
    11. But how do we get hold of a sample ?
    A. Ask and we can supply a loan sample for trial.
    12. Can I get a demo version of CMS then to go with the Sample MDVR to show clients ?
    A. Better still, we can provide you with login details to our Demo CMS Server and setup your MDVR so that you and your customer can see it and no one else. When they decide to go ahead, they can then create their own CMS Server after you have done the training.
